The City of Helsinki is piloting a modular mobile app for the use of citizens and tourists. The app will allow third party developers to make use of the notification, identification and location services provided by the App. The first MVP of the service will push notifications to users about recent city decisions based on the location. For example, if the city has recently granted a permission for a new beauty salon around the corner you can be notified about it when you are walking past it.
Helsinki is looking for partners to work on the open source software: the Open City App. It is being developed in React Native.
